A diploma in pharmacy helps in becoming a pharmacist who is a vital part medical system. A Pharmacist’s job is to prepare, mix, compound or dispense drugs & medicines such as tablets, pills, ointments & injections on the basis of a prescription produced by a registered medical practitioner, dentist or a veterinarian. Pharmacists are also concerned with the production of pharmaceutical products, development of the methods or processes of production & quality control. Besides, they also assist doctors, physicians & other medical crew in rendering necessary information about various drugs, their contra-indications, incompatibility, country’s legal adoption etc.
Diploma in pharmacy students can set up their own pharmacy or chemists & druggists shop for D2C or B2B selling & stocking of registered medicines. Each medicine should be registered with the state Pharmacy Council, of India. A pharmacist can also work with the pharmaceutical industry, government departments, universities, teaching hospitals, and investigation & research institutes.
Duration, Eligibility Criteria & Admission Process
Diploma in Pharmacy is a Diploma certificate course. The course consists of two academic years and practical training session. On course completion (academic program and practical training), successful candidates will get Diploma certificate from the University/Institute.
Duration : 2 years.
Eligibility Criteria: 10+2 passed with Science stream subjects (PCMB) from a recognized board is the minimum educational qualification required. Minimum aggregate marks required 45% marks (in main science subjects).
Admission Process : Direct and merit based admission process. Under this process, marks scored by students in board examination are taken into consideration. Seats are allotted to deserving students on the basis of merit marks scored by them.
Age Limit : Candidate should be at least 17 Years of age while securing addmission.
Eligibility : A minimum qualification for admission to the Diploma in Pharmacy: Candidate should pass any of the following examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects:
